What are training belts used for?
Training belts are a very important part of the equipment for every serious trainee who performs exercises like deadlifts, squats, and other multi-joint basic movements.
Training belts serve to:
– Stabilizing the core and better activation of the abdominal muscles
– Increasing the strength of the main exercises by 10-15%
– Doing more repetitions of the main exercises with a certain weight. This is an incredible plus, especially if your goals are to look good and gain muscle mass, because the main factor for gaining it is training volume and more repetitions contribute to that.
– Improving the explosiveness of exercise performance
All this happens thanks to the increase in intra-abdominal pressure (IAP). During squats and deadlifts, IAP is increased by 15 to 40% when using a training belt. The increased pressure raises the overall tension in our body, allowing us to lift weights more effectively and safely.
